In a compelling segment on 60 Minutes, correspondent Lesley Stahl shed light on the inspiring story of SOLA (School of Leadership Afghanistan), an all-girls boarding school in Afghanistan. Forced to evacuate Kabul when the Taliban seized control of the country following the U.S. military withdrawal in August 2021, SOLA found refuge in Rwanda, where it continues to provide education to girls from sixth to twelfth grades. Many of its high school students now attend boarding schools abroad.
